bread & vine is not a program. it’s a table. once a month we gather at portland’s white house, and every week in between mentors and community families stay close — so that each person is known, valued, and welcomed into a family before the harder work of healing and employment ever begins.
a seat that’s already yours

an evening called Worthy
our very first event with Braking Cycles — a night to tell the young women in their homes exactly what they are: worthy.
It took one simple email to get the ball rolling — a question to Robby: what would it look like to use the beautiful White House for an event for our girls in Braking Cycles homes? The hope was to create an evening that would reflect the truth of these precious girls' value — where they would feel loved, seen, celebrated, and valued.
Within five minutes of that email, Robby called and said YES to the idea, and we were on our way to plan the evening called “Worthy.”
Every element of the evening must have been orchestrated by God, because we know there is no way we could have pulled this together. From the classic cars that chauffeured the girls to the White House, to the five-course meal served in the beautiful dining room, the volunteer who took professional photos, the classic pianist who gave his time, the formal dresses that were donated — every tiny piece was perfectly woven together by a heavenly Father who simply wanted these girls to know how worthy they are.
Honestly, thank you is not nearly enough to express our gratitude for all that happened this evening. There are no words that can adequately articulate the miracles we saw unfold leading up to this incredible evening and all throughout our time there.
