the shelters, recovery programs, and missions walking with people in crisis are doing extraordinary work — often far beyond what they're funded for. but no single organization is built, or paid, to carry one person the whole way. the gaps below aren't anyone's failure. they're the structural seams between good programs that were never designed to connect — and they're what sproutworks exists to close, alongside the partners already in the fight.

belonging, healing, and work live in separate organizations, buildings, and budgets. a person re-tells their story and re-earns trust at every door — and the seams between good programs are exactly where they fall through.
the funding is drawn in silos
grants are scoped by category — housing, treatment, workforce — so almost no one is paid to own a single person's path from crisis to stability. the gaps aren't a failure of effort; they're how the money is drawn up.
a record outlasts the sentence
even after the best recovery work, the job market keeps its doors closed. that's not something a shelter or mission can fix on its own — it's a structural barrier that needs an employer willing to open the door.
